Behavioral Health Specialist - LMSW

Posterity Group, LLC is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist - (LMSW) to provide Behavioral Health Professional Services for the Army National Guard in Weslaco, Texas.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide at least 40 clinical service hours per week; consisting of clinical assessment, diagnosis, intervention plan, referral, and monitoring of clinical progress.
  • Connect identified service members with available resources and civilian
    providers, and monitor compliance, progress, and outcomes of referrals
  • Conduct follow up with the SM and collateral agents; serve as a resource for soldiers and unit commands regarding the implementation of treatment recommendations and restrictions of Soldier activities (if applicable)
  • Maintain knowledge of and proficiency with the array of local, state, and national
    external behavioral health resources available to TXARNG service members
  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, collaborative treatment planning, and coordination of care. Clinical assessment and entries into eCase should be completed within the (3) days of the occurrence of the event
  • Prepare statistical and narrative reports consisting of activities related to behavioral health as necessary, including collecting demographic information, military and deployment history, as well as the identification of behavioral health issues and stressors within five (5) calendar days of the reporting period
  • The contractor shall attend weekly meetings and follow all HIPAA regulations and professional ethical standards in all activities.
  • Attend, on occasion, weekend events to consist of Soldier Readiness Process (SRP)/Reverse Soldier Readiness Process (RSRP), Fully Medically Ready (FMR), or Drill Weekend
  • Must be available for on-call rotations - rotations span 24 hours, 7 days a week, approximately once every 6 weeks
  • Travel as needed for events and presentations

Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed by a state board of Social Worker Examiners or equivalent to practice at Masters level (LMSW or equivalent).
  • Must have a valid Masters of Social Work degree from an educational institution accredited by the Council of Social Work (CSWE). 
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in the application of clinical mental health principles. 
  • Have a strong working knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic categories and criteria.
  • Have experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions
    across the lifespan using evidence-based approaches.
  • Have experience and/or knowledge of health care within the military system,
    including external/civilian resources available to service members and their families.
  • Have excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be able to build and maintain strong relationships, maintain appropriate
    boundaries, and work equally well independently or as part of a team.
  • Be courteous and professional when delivering clinical recommendations that may
    at times be adversarial to some service members who have a vested interest in
    appearing well.
  • Have the ability to manage and prioritize key tasks (e.g., clinical emergencies) in an
    efficient and effective manner.
  • Be comfortable making clinical recommendations with limited information and in
    the context of diagnostic uncertainty.
  • Be comfortable with computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office) including military
    applications (e.g., MODS, eProfile, MedPros, etc.)
