Barista - Bloom Coffee & Kitchen
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Baristas are responsible for providing excellent customer service and preparing beverages and food items according to Bloom Coffee’s standards. They represent the face of the café, ensuring customers receive consistent, high-quality service in a welcoming environment.
COMPENSATION: Minimum wage plus tips.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Greet and serve customers with professionalism and warmth.
• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare light food items as required by the menu.
• Operate the POS system, handle cash and card transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including counters, seating, and self-service areas.
• Follow break schedules as assigned by the Shift Lead.
• Restock supplies and ingredients as directed.
• Report customer feedback, operational concerns, or report issues to the FOH Shift Lead.
• Provide consistent, high-quality service and product preparation.
• Follow Bloom’s service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and Shift Leads.
• Support coworkers during peak times by assisting where needed.
• Arrive on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
• Follow First In First Out (FIFO) policies and procedures
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Friendly, welcoming attitude; strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle customer questions, special requests, and complaints professionally.
• Provide consistent, high-quality service and product preparation.
• Follow Bloom’s service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and Shift Leads.

• Cross train as a cook
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge (or ability to learn) correct:
• Equipment operation (espresso machines, grinders, brewers)
• Cleaning and maintenance routines
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Food Handler’s Card.
• Provide consistent, high-quality service and product preparation.
• Follow Bloom’s service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and Shift Leads.
• Support coworkers during peak times by assisting where needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to lift products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.
This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
