A Prep Cook, or Preparatory Cook, is
responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation
of meals and ingredients.
Prep Cook Job Responsibilities:
· Perform routine kitchen tasks.
· Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
· Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
· Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
· Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, other meal prep
· Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
· Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
· Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
· Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
· Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
· Perform other kitchen duties as assigned. promote and portray the VIVÂMEE Values.
· Know, understand, and adhere to company established policies and procedures.
· Prepare food in a quality and timely manner.
· Maintain cleanliness of stations including all reach-in boxes and kitchen in general.
· Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigeration and storage areas.
· Maintain rotation of food in walk-in refrigeration and storage areas.
· Set up workstation in a timely manner and in a way that maximizes efficient service.
· Prepare food served at banquets and other events.
· Provide food input related to specials.
· To have knowledge of all kitchen workstations.
· sanitizing their work station during and after service.
· At least 1 year of Prep Cook experience
