Bank Secrecy Act Specialist (application must be completed fore consideration)

·        The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice. Management may assign new duties, reassign existing duties, or eliminate a function.


·         *Review daily cash reports for required CTRs and enter cash into Bank reporting software

·         *Monitor and analyze multiple reports regarding various customer transaction types and patterns, including currency, checks, wires, monetary instruments, ACH, OFAC, etc. generated from various Bank software and systems for unusual or suspicious activity

·         *Review subpoenas, garnishments, and levies for suspicious activity

·         *Investigate potential suspicious activity, document findings clearly and thoroughly, and escalate issues as needed

·         *Conduct 314a searches

·         *Assist with tracking of required new account onboarding documentation for CIP, CDD, EDD, etc.

·         *Assist with CDD, EDD, and high-risk customer assignments and reviews at onboarding and ongoing

·         *Assist in the preparation and timely electronic filing of CTRs and SARs with FinCEN

·         *Assist with BSA Committee preparation, follow-up, and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation

·         *Assist with tracking of required employee annual BSA training

·         *Assist with risk assessments and maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures

·         *Complete on-going training to stay up-to-date on Bank procedures, regulatory, and industry issues

·         *Assist in ensuring department activities run smoothly and efficiently, including making efficiency improvements within the department such as with automation and software/system implementation

·         *Assist with regulatory examinations and independent audits of the BSA/AML/OFAC compliance programs

·         *Collaborate with other departments as needed to support overall compliance goals

·         *Participate in Bank functions / activities, some of which may be after normal banking hours

·         *Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of BSA-AML-CFT/CIP/OFAC laws and regulations. General knowledge and understanding of bank deposit operations, lending activities and other related consumer banking and compliance functions.

 

Skills and Competencies:

·         Strong decision making, analytical and investigative abilities

·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·         Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

·         Outstanding organization skills with high attention to detail and ability to multi-task managing priorities

·         Knowledge of AML software is a plus                                                                                                                            

·         Ability to maintain confidential customer and Bank information in a responsible and secure manner

·         Professional certifications such as CAMS, CAFP, or CBAP, or the willingness to obtain them, are encouraged

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

·         *Traditional retail office environment

·         *The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet

·         *Occasional travel for business-related matters such as training, although accommodations will be made for virtual training when feasible

·        *Duties can be performed from home office if approved by Bank president with strict confidentiality of information expected, although there will be times which will be communicated where employee will be expected on Bank premises

·         *Expected to be on Bank premises prior to opening/closing unless working under work from home approval

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distant vision; Continuously typing and looking at a computer screen for a long period of time

·         Continuously required to sit, talk or hear

·         Frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms

·         Occasionally required to lift and/or move object weighting up to 30 pounds

·         Rarely required to lift and/or move objects weighting over 30 pounds
