Bakery Clerk
Job Summary
The Bakery Clerk will be responsible for baking fresh loaves of bread, setting out the pastries and preparing fresh bread, and other baked goods for the following day. It is also the baker’s responsibility to ensure the quality of the goods being used is up to par.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
· Greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations, accepting orders, and providing exceptional customer service.
· Mixing, preparing and baking bread
· Arranging the display case in an appealing manner
· Ordering supplies
· Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time for opening
· Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc.
· Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
· Decorate, glaze, apply icing, and prepare toppings for baked goods
· Follow existing recipes
· Assisting in other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
· Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations
· Capacity to organize, prioritize and work effectively
· Ability to adapt to change and generate ideas
· Ability to meet strict deadlines
· Creativity
Preferred Qualifications
· High school diploma
· 3 – 5 years of related experience
· Bilingual Spanish/English
