The baker will…

 Prepare all baked goods, including bread and oversee the preparation of desserts in a commercial kitchen. The baker develops dessert recipes and maintains an inventory of ingredients while striving to achieve cost-efficiency for the restaurant.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including bread, pastries etc. using precise café standards.
  • Ensure correct quantities of baked goods are being produced daily and works with the management teams to plan production schedules.
  • Manage the baking environment by maintaining quality presentation, monitor oven temperature and baking times, and evaluate product against standards.
  • Visually merchandise and display all products.
  • Receive and store inventory, proof/prepare for baking, and bake to ensure the consistency of product

  • Keep work area clean, organized and stocked, responsible for proper sanitation of the work environment.

  • Demonstrate hospitality, respect and a friendly attitude toward Guests and fellow team members.
  • Resolve any problem and keep management informed about issues and problems as they arise.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new bakers (as needed).
  • Perform prep and utility duties as needed/backup when needed.
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned.

 

 Qualifications

  • Must be able to use basic food preparation equipment including Large -capacity mixer, ice cream machine, convection oven, pizza oven, proofer, robo coupe or other food processor, 40- gallon stem kettle and steam cabinet
  • Ensures that work area is safe and secure
  • Attention to detail, knowledge of ingredients, and an aesthetic/artistic eye
  • Adheres to state and local health and food safety regulations
  • Maintains high standards of quality for all food prepared and served
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations

 

Job Overview and Requirements

  • Job Hours: Full-time, Weekends, and Evenings
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Experience: 3+ years experience. Fine Dining a plus
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 40lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
