Position Overview:
Rapid Strategy is seeking a part-time AWS Security Solutions Analyst to support our internal AWS infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives. This role involves managing physical and virtual penetration testing environments, maintaining AWS configurations, troubleshooting system issues, and contributing to security policy development. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and capable of supporting a wide range of technical and compliance-oriented tasks.

Estimated Commitment: 10–20 hours per week (flexible hours, remote)

Key Responsibilities:

  • AWS Security & Infrastructure Management: Implement and maintain AWS security controls, IAM policies, and best practices. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize system configurations.

  • Penetration Testing Support: Set up, configure, and manage physical and virtual penetration testing appliances; build and maintain custom VM images on ESXi platforms.

  • Network Security & VPN Management: Deploy and manage secure VPN access (e.g., Pritunl); monitor network health and troubleshoot access or connectivity issues.

  • Automation & Scripting: Use Python or Bash to automate monitoring, alerting, and access management processes.

  • User Access Management: Enforce role-based access controls (RBAC); oversee provisioning and deprovisioning workflows.

  • Vulnerability Management: Run scans using Nessus or other tools; analyze vulnerabilities and support remediation coordination.

  • System Hardening: Secure Linux and Windows systems in accordance with CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, or ISO 27001.

  • Policy Support: Assist with drafting and updating cybersecurity policies and internal procedures.

  • Incident Response: Participate in troubleshooting and response activities in the event of a security incident.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing AWS environments with a strong focus on security and compliance.

  • Proficient in Python or Bash scripting for automation and operational tasks.

  • Experience deploying and managing VPN solutions (OpenVPN, WireGuard, or Pritunl).

  • Strong understanding of network security fundamentals, troubleshooting, and system hardening techniques.

  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus) and remediation workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Security+, CEH, or CISSP.

  • Experience with SIEMs, SOAR platforms, or intrusion detection systems.

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, or PCI-DSS.

  • Previous experience supporting security testing environments or tools.
