Fleet Mechanic

Fidelity Building Services Group is looking for a Fleet Mechanic/Technician to join our Fleet Team in Sparks, MD.

You will be responsible for properly repairing, maintaining, and inspecting company vehicles. In addition, we are looking for someone who can help teach their strengths to the team but is also willing to learn.

Typical Hours:

• Monday through Friday, typically 6:00am to 2:30pm
• Weekends as needed

What does a typical day entail?

• Inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
• Maintains vehicle is in functional condition and verifies vehicle serviceability
• Testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards to make sure they follow state vehicle requirements
• Maintaining vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting (when required.)
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs.
• Contains costs by using a warranty, and evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; and verifying receipts.

Base Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

• Commensurate with experience.  This range represents a general guideline; however, a number of factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
