Purpose of Internship

American Haval Motor Technology (AHMT) Summer internship program is an integral part of our organization and offers students personal real-world insights and exposures to actual working life plus experiential foundation to their career choices.  

 Role of the Student

An internship is an opportunity for students to synthesize classroom theory, personal skills, and genuine career-related work experience. Students will submit a résumé and a personal statement describing their academic and career goals, as well as any other information required by AHMT. At the end of the internship, each student will be required to submit a written report to his or her respective school (if applicable).

Title of Internship:  Automotive Engineering

Division: Autonomous Driving Systems

Location:  Farmington Hills, Mi

Schedule:  Full Time - Each student is required to work 40 hours per week

Salary:

Tier 1: $13.5/hour: New undergraduate student participants

          Students should possess a minimum of 31 credits by the end of Spring 2018

Tier 2: $20.25/hour: Returning undergraduate students

           Students MUST have completed a full 10-week program in a prior year to receive this level

Tier 3: $30.00/hour Post Undergraduates

            Must have completed their bachelor’s degree requirements before starting the internship program

Responsibilities:

The responsibility of each intern will be tailored to meet the needs of each intern based on their experience, formal training, academic and career goals.   Each intern will be required to perform work at the Farmington Hills office location, work with their hiring manager to develop/deliver joint goals and develop/present work to the AHMT team in Farmington Hills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • To be eligible for internship students must be pursuing bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, Robotics, Business, Marketing, or equivalent major relevant to an autonomous vehicle start-up business
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
