We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining automation systems, with a focus on Rockwell automation programming. Automation Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
· Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems using Rockwell Automation software (Allen-Bradley) including RS Logix, Studio Logix and Connected Components Workbench
· Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) in accordance with company standards
· Collaborate with project teams to develop control system architectures and specifications
· Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
· Assist in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system design and configuration as needed including FactoryTalk, Ignition, and ICONICS platforms
· Provide technical support to clients and resolve any issues related to automation systems
· Participate in on-site commissioning, start-up, and training activities
· Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in automation and control systems
· Perform troubleshooting of controls systems, network systems, SCADA systems, and other site specific problems
· Willingness to train less experienced engineers
Requirements for the Automation Controls Engineer:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or 4+ years industry experience
· Solid understanding of PLC programming concepts and experience with Rockwell Automation software (RSLogix, Studio 5000, CCW)
· Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures
· Some experience in SCADA and HMI design and configuration is preferred
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems
· Possess familiarity and ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (up to 60% travel locally with occasional overnight stays)
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
