Role Overview
Our Assurance Senior will be assigned and complete engagements from planning through financial statement preparation. This individual will be given the opportunity to work on assigned areas of increasing complexity and will be able to outline any problems to the in-charge. We are seeking an Assurance Senior with leadership skills that can help train other staff and interns.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs diversified accounting and assurance assignments under the direction of a Manager, Senior Manager, and/or Partner
- Begins to demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards
- Meets time constraints and client deadlines
- Participates in planning of client engagements
- Becomes proficient at preparing financial statements using the firm’s software programs and prepares other reports, projects, and duties as may be assigned
- Begins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive basis of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations
- Begins acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty
- Takes additional ownership in jobs assigned or task given in order to see through to completion
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree from a four-year college or university; Active Louisiana CPA license is preferred but 150 credit hour requirement must be met; two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
