Courtyard by Marriott - Asst General Manager
General Summary:
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel, under the supervision of the General Manager. This is a training position for someone who would be interested in becoming a General Manager one day, but it depends on the person in the position. The AGM assists in all departments of the hotel which includes but is not limited to housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, breakfast and sales. A general understanding of each department and how they impact the overall performance of the hotel is a plus.
Duties Include:
Oversee and supervise day to day operations of the hotel
Financial responsibility to reconcile daily bank deposits
Assist in hiring and training of new staff
Inventory of hotel supplies and ordering as needed
Guest Satisfaction
Problem Resolution and Service Recovery
Review and Manage Hotel Room Inventory
Prepare Hotel for Incoming Group and Meeting Room Reservations
Direct Bills and Collections Effort if Necessary
Scheduling of Staff and Filling In for Shifts as Needed
Be available for On Call Situations - Our business is 24/7
Maintain and Review Brand Standards for compliance with Marriott
Prepare Hotel for Brand Audit
Conduct Daily Walk Through of Hotel with Dept Heads
Assist General Manager with any additional tasks that may be assigned
Qualifications:
Hotel Experience - Minimum 3 years, preferred. Marriott preferred and experience with Courtyard by Marriott an extreme plus
Ability to work all shifts as needed, schedule may vary from 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as needed
Excellent communication skills - Written and Verbal
Strong initiative and work ethic
Punctual and Professional
Customer Service Oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
Relationship building skills
