As an Assisted Living Clinical Manager RN (Registered Nurse), you would typically hold a key leadership position in an assisted living facility. Your role would encompass various responsibilities related to clinical care, staff management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Here's an overview of what your duties might entail:

  1. Clinical Oversight:

    • Provide direct nursing care to residents as needed.
    • Conduct assessments of residents' health status and develop care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
    • Monitor residents' conditions and oversee the implementation of care plans.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  2. Staff Management:

    • Supervise and coordinate the work of other nursing staff, such as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).
    • Participate in the hiring process for nursing staff and provide training and orientation.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
    • Address staffing issues and ensure adequate coverage for shifts.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements set forth by licensing agencies.
    • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care and satisfaction.
    • Conduct audits and assessments to monitor the facility's adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Investigate incidents or complaints related to resident care and take appropriate actions to address them.
  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care for residents.
    • Communicate effectively with residents' families to provide updates on their loved ones' health status and address any concerns.
    • Collaborate with other departments within the assisted living facility, such as dining services and activities, to ensure holistic care for residents.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for residents.
    • Document assessments, care plans, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Generate reports on clinical outcomes, staffing levels, and other relevant metrics for facility management and regulatory agencies.
