We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven Dispatch Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume delivery environment. You’ll be responsible for managing daily deliveries across the GTA and surrounding areas — ensuring our drivers are running efficiently, customers are satisfied, and operations stay on track. This role requires someone who can balance quick decision-making with strong attention to detail, while maintaining excellent communication under pressure.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and dispatch 9+ drivers running multiple routes daily (flatbeds and vans)
  • Plan and adjust runs in real-time to maintain delivery commitments (3 hour window from order to delivery)
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, customers, warehouse staff, and management
  • Monitor vehicle locations via fleet tracking software (Geotab) and proactively address delays or route issues
  • Track and follow up on high-priority and time-sensitive deliveries (up to 130 deliveries a day)
  • Ensure all deliveries are logged, documented, and invoiced correctly
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to confirm order readiness and help manage volume overflow
  • Enforce driver expectations, route cut-off times, and time-on-site limits
  • Report exceptions, missed deliveries, or chronic issues with clear notes and suggestions
  • Continuously improve route planning and dispatch processes to reduce delays and maximize delivery success
  • Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

  • 2+ years of dispatch experience, ideally in last-mile, high-volume environments required
  • Experience using Geotab or similar fleet tracking software preferred
  • Background in logistics, transportation, or warehouse coordination preferred
  • Familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21 or ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or Netsuite is an asset
  • Heavy-duty parts knowledge or background is an asset
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills — you don’t just spot issues, you fix them fast
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail — accuracy in deliveries and documentation is essential to success in this role
  • Able to handle multiple drivers, routes, and priorities under tight timelines
  • Excellent communicator — you’re calm, clear, and direct whether you’re talking to drivers or customers
  • A team player with a no-excuses attitude — you do what it takes to get the job done right
  • Experience with truck routing, delivery cut-offs, and multi-stop run setups
  • Familiarity with manual and automated run planning
  • Strong follow-up and accountability mindset — you don’t let issues slide

What we offer:

  • A Highly Competitive Wage – eligible for a yearly bonus
  • Daytime hours - No evenings or weekends
  • Dental/Vision Benefits
  • Health Spending Account
  • Sick Pay Allowance
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • DPSP and GRSP
  • A Continuous Learning Environment
