Assistant Store Manager [FNR]

Our Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager to support overall operations and profitability through outstanding customer service, superior staff selection and retention, effective training and development, creative visual merchandising, inventory and expense control, safety and security, implementation of store policies and procedures, and diligent record-keeping.  They promote, create, and maintain a team atmosphere and support company values of environmental stewardship. 

Duties include providing outstanding customer service, working with Department Managers on scheduling, orientation and staff development; resolving customer complaints; communicating with staff; rewarding and recognizing employees; advancing workplace safety; troubleshooting problems; addressing loss prevention concerns; completing documentation and reporting requirements; participating in inventory; working with Human Resources to address performance issues; and otherwise demonstrating a level of high performance that will support the growth and success of the overall business.   

Additional tasks include:

• Working with Store and Department Managers to meet sales objectives and goals 
• Ensuring coverage by working with employees or stepping up fill gaps when necessary
• Coordinating scheduling with Store Manager and Department Managers to meet staffing requirements 
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, orientation, training and retention of customer service driven staff 
• Addressing loss prevention concerns
• Working to ensure safety training, guidelines and responding to on-site injuries or accidents 
• Participating in inventory responsibilities
• Promoting team work and developing productive relationships with staff 
• Assisting customers with vehicle/trailer sales, obtaining State certification or licensing required 
• Ensuring employees understand and comply with company policies and procedures 
• Working with the team to maintain a clean, efficient and strategically merchandised store 
• Partners with community resources for tasks ranging from community promotions to handling emergency or loss-prevention situations 
• Complete record-keeping and creating reports 
• Completes special orders 
• Coordinates with others to plan for sales and promotions
• Ensure proper documentation and pricing of products 
• Works to engage and inspire teamwork with department employees

Our ideal candidate is experienced in retail management, motivates and leads by example, is willing to pitch-in and help, has a mentor mentality, is well-organized, takes initiative, communicates well, and has an engaging and positive approach to customer service.  Knowledge, skills and abilities desired for this position include:

• Three to Five years of retail management experience preferred 
• Prior top-notch customer service expertise 
• Leadership skills that demonstrate a problem-solving approach to issues 
• Experience with inventory, merchandising, promotions and bookkeeping helpful 
• Comfort and adaptability with learning new technology or computer systems
  
• Ability to be flexible and work retail hours, including nights and weekend shifts 
• Engaging and positive 
• Effective trouble-shooting skills
• Ability to present and maintain a professional demeanor

Schedule Requirements:

• Must have open availability
• This position frequently works 45 hours a week 
• Flexible availability required 

Pay Range:  $21.00 - $23.50 an hour 

Positions:  1 Full-Time
