Position Summary: 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to serve as Assistant Maintenance Supervisor for a rapidly growing and dynamic property management organization. This position is responsible for the general maintenance of the apartment community to include performing repairs, troubleshooting, apartment turnover, and performing preventative maintenance. Do you want to reach your full potential, surrounded by exceptional colleagues, collaborating in achieving and exceeding personal and professional goals?  Then, this is the place to be! 

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Work with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to ensure maintenance functions are performed properly and promptly. 
  • Ensure effective and timely follow up with residents, vendors, and property management team on all maintenance services provided. 
  • Respond to all on-call emergencies in a timely manner. 
  • Complete and follow up on all open, unresolved service tickets. 
  • Use of general maintenance equipment including but not limited to the following: hand tools, ladders, landscaping equipment, and required safety equipment. All equipment must be used safely. 
  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and other community features daily to identify required maintenance tasks, minimize liability concerns and always ensure excellent curb appeal. 
  • Participate in company training classes and meetings. 
  • Follow policies relating to but not limited to fair housing, OSHA, pool, and safety standards set by the company. 
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. 

 

Who You Are:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in apartment maintenance, including basic diagnostics/repair of electrical, plumbing, and appliances as well as carpentry experience. 
  • HVAC certification required (CFC Universal).
  • Be a team player in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
  • Have a positive attitude & effective communication skill.
  • Enjoy helping people.
  • Have basic tools for the trade.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Have the flexibility to occasionally respond to 'off-hour' emergency situations and resident concerns.  
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to service the lights and ceiling fans.
