Role Summary:
The ADON plays a key leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing in all aspects of clinical oversight, staff management, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality resident care. Candidates must have prior leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care
- Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or management nursing role
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations specific to nursing home operations
- Understanding of abuse, neglect, injury reporting, and documentation requirements
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Must be able to lift 60–70 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the shift
- Proficient with computers, EMR systems, and clinical software
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call duties
- Professional appearance and adherence to facility dress code
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing daily nursing operations and clinical staffing
- Provide coaching, leadership, and performance feedback to nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Monitor clinical outcomes, documentation, and infection prevention protocols
- Participate in training, audits, and performance improvement initiatives
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners
- Serve as a clinical resource and decision-maker in the absence of the DON
