Sugar Land Health Care Center is actively seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing and clinical team. Role Summary:

The ADON plays a key leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing in all aspects of clinical oversight, staff management, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality resident care. Candidates must have prior leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or management nursing role
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations specific to nursing home operations
  • Understanding of abuse, neglect, injury reporting, and documentation requirements
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift 60–70 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the shift
  • Proficient with computers, EMR systems, and clinical software
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call duties
  • Professional appearance and adherence to facility dress code

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with overseeing daily nursing operations and clinical staffing
  • Provide coaching, leadership, and performance feedback to nursing staff
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, documentation, and infection prevention protocols
  • Participate in training, audits, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners
  • Serve as a clinical resource and decision-maker in the absence of the DON
