The NMTC Asset Manager provides support for the New Markets Tax Credit related lending and allocation deployment within the Community Development Division of Native American Bank. This role supports the Division with diligence collection, origination functions, closing, construction draw disbursement, and compliance monitoring of New Markets Tax Credits transactions and the placement of NMTC allocations.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining strong relationships with our customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in project management and a strong sense of individual initiative. The successful applicant will be resourceful, detail- oriented, and constantly looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the deployment of New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation placement including diligence collection, participating in group closing calls, and supporting day-of-closing activities.
- Assisting the preparation of NAB’s annual NMTC Allocation application to the CDFI Fund.
- Supporting the tracking of a pipeline of NMTC allocation and lending opportunities.
- Aiding NMTC related lending activities including gathering financial information from clients and partners, organizing client files and data rooms, maintaining timelines, collecting impact metrics, and collaborating with other departments within the bank.
- Contributing to opening NMTC related deposit accounts including diligence collection, preparing risk ratings, and coordinating approvals with other departments within the bank.
- Supporting loan closings, including reviewing loan documents for consistency with approvals and covenants and reporting requirements, reviewing insurance certificates, organizing loan files, and preparing internal request forms related to closing.
- Assisting with the disbursement process from NMTC related deposit accounts.
- Maintaining relationships with NMTC loan clients including the collection, review, and tracking of borrower financial and compliance reporting documents.
- Occasional business travel to site visits, conferences, and other client engagement opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in community development finance, commercial lending, or New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) –related work.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated initiative.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills.
- Commitment to working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and building effective partnerships.
- Hands-on experience with NMTC allocation, deployment, and compliance.
- Solid understanding of the NMTC Program and its practical application.
- Experience working with Native American communities and Tribal governments.
- Familiarity with government loan guaranty programs
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
