Aquatics Maintenance Manager

Hours: Full time - 5 to 6 days/week  Variety of weekday, weekend and Evening shifts - 45+ hours

Earliest Shift 6 am          Latest Shift 1 am

Must be willing to work weekdays, weekend, morning, evening, holiday shifts

Responsible for the repair, replacement and preventative maintenance of the Bavarian Inn Lodge aquatic systems equipment and machinery.  Training and development of maintenance team members in the maintenance department as it pertains to aquatics.  Maintains proper water chemistry in swimming pool, spas and water slides. Assures team members are trained in safety and then making sure that they work in a safe manner.

Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional knowledge equivalent to three-year experience of light repair and maintenance of outdoor/indoor swimming pools, fountains, and related equipment to include commercial grade waterslides, water features and other commercial comprehensive family aquatic equipment.

Operate hand tools, power equipment and specialty equipment required for monitoring and testing systems (i.e., chemical test kits, chemical controllers, microprocessors, boosters, pumps, automatic chemical controls systems, etc.).

Sufficient visual acuity which permits the employee to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors. Certified Pool Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion

Ability to continually reach, stretch, bend, lift items heavy weights (75 – 100 lbs.), ability to climb ladders of all types and be on feet for long periods of time.

Operate standard office equipment including a personal computer and related software or programs.

Valid state driver’s license required.

Ability to drive Lodge vehicles and be insured

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors year around. 

Building trade skills, including but not limited to, methods, materials, tools and standard practices regarding carpentry, painting, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tiling, concrete and plastering tasks; applicable electrical and building codes.

Understand and abides by MIOSHA, state and county regulations, City policies and safe work practices relating to the use of aquatics equipment, cleaning agents including handling and disposal of hazardous materials; Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) rules and regulations; confined spaces entry procedures; Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) regulations; Saginaw County Health Department rules and regulations.

Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, technical specifications and operational manuals; perform basic mathematical calculations
