Application Engineer

Lyons Mechanical Services, a leading building automation company, is seeking a talented Application Engineer to join our team. If you are passionate about developing innovative software solutions for state-of-the-art building systems, this is the opportunity for you!

 Responsibilities

•  Under minimal supervision, complete assigned projects, programming, and project turnover to commissioning process.
•   Act as a technical resource to the project’s team and customer, as needed
•  Assist with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems
•  Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, I.P, Etc.)
•  Provide accurate information for closeout documents
•  Provide customer or end-user training on system operation
•  Collaborate with clients to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
•  Report problems or changes to supervisor or management
•  Perform self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application
•  Lead, direct, and teach field technicians to assist in the successful implementation of projects
•  Adhere to safety standards and local and national codes with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety
•  Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2 or 4 year degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of software and computer language used to operate Tridium Niagara Framework (Java/HTML). Niagara certification is a plus but could be obtained through training.
•  Knowledge and understanding of various communications protocols used in the industry, including BACnet, LonWorks and Modbus is a plus.
•  Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to customer job sites, (as needed)
•  Travel based on job needs.
