Park Lane Senior Living is a Senior Living healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to those we serve. Park Lane Senior Living operates under the umbrella of Scott County Rest Home Inc. which was established in 1965 for the care of Scott County elders and currently provides services through 3 divisions, Park Place Independent Living, Park Haven Residential Healthcare, and Park Lane Nursing Home. We are a Continuing Care Retirement Community operating as Park Lane Senior Living in Scott City, Kansas.
- Park Place Independent Living has 20 apartments of varying sizes designed to meet the needs of older adults while allowing them to maintain their independence.
- Park Haven Residential Health Care houses 11 apartments but can serve up to 16 residents who require more care than independent living but do not require total nursing home care. In Residential Health, the services aim to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of individuals who are unable to live independently due to age, disability, or medical conditions. Nursing staff provide 24-hour care in Residential Health.
- Park Lane Nursing Home is a 54-bed, dually certified, Medicare and Medicaid facility that offers both traditional long-term care nursing and skilled nursing. The nursing facility provides long-term care for residents who require assistance with daily activities due to physical or cognitive limitations. The skilled nursing component provides specialized medical care and rehabilitation services for residents with acute or chronic health conditions. Nursing staff provide 24-hour care in Park Lane Nursing Home.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient individual to fill a dual role within the organization. This position combines Ancillary Service Support with Human Resource Coordination ensuring smooth operation and quality care delivery. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, adhere to confidentiality standards, and be able to work autonomously and independently. Experience in Human Resources, Business Office, or Medical Industry is preferred.
This is a Full-Time (40 hr/wk) Monday through Friday position
Key Responsibilities - Ancillary Service Support:
- Perform secretarial roles such as phoneline management including phone inquiries and directing calls
- Support Billing Coordinator by assisting with AR functions such as collections, daily census review, insurance verification, records requests, or other tasks as needed
- Support Medical Records by assisting with scanning and maintenance of patient records as well as processing records requests
- Support Social Services by assisting with family communications, admission paperwork, appointment scheduling, Medicaid applications and follow-up, or other tasks as needed
- Assist the Administrator and department managers as needed with various tasks and projects including enhancement of systems and processes, policy review, and performance improvement audits
- Develop and manage volunteer program
- Support all departments with use and utilization of scheduling and timekeeping software
- Assist Adminstrator and department managers with technological issues and coordinate with contracted IT support as needed
Key Responsibilities - Human Resources:
- Execute HR functions, including payroll coordination, benefits coordination, maintain employee files, including certifications and licenses, and managing the onboarding processes
- Maintain and train personnel on the various software systems utilized within the organization such as time management software, online learning software, and quality reporting software
- Management, collaboration, and marketing for open positions and posting positions in the marketplace, and responsible for personnel recruitment
- Coordinate, organize, and lead all-staff meetings
- Maintain, manage, and promote LEAP program and maintain monthly reporting requirements, including reporting eligibility of new or discharged personnel and program completions
- Oversee employee relations and ensure compliance with HR policies
- Assist with organization policy and procedure review of HR and assist department heads with review of job descriptions, daily time management, ensuring educational compliance, and assist or conduct departmental audits
- Maintain federally mandated OSHA logs for workplace injury and fatality reporting. Work closely with facility worker's compensation provider, attorneys, case managers, and insurance representatives to manage the company's workers compensation issues
- Assist department heads with corrective action, remediation, and follow-up of personnel issues and concerns
- Maintain, review, and update the employee handbook and HR policies

Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time as well as move throughout the building
- Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at a moderate skill level
- Ability to read computer screens and email, mail and talk on the phone
- Ability to lift twenty-five (25) pounds
Work Environment:
- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in a nursing home setting
- Occasional exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable, and irrational. Subject to hostile and emotionally upset family members, employees, and visitors.
- Possible exposure to infections, diseases, and bloodborne pathogens
- Possible high stress levels in relation to working under deadlines and budget constraints
