We are currently seeking an Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions that drive smarter decision-making.
JOB SUMMARY
The Analytics Engineer designs, builds, and maintains scalable data systems to enhance business intelligence and decision-making at Frontiers North. This role is responsible for developing ETL pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources into a centralized warehouse, creating structured data models, and building interactive dashboards and reports. The Analytics Engineer ensures data accuracy, optimizes query performance, maintains security compliance, and collaborates with business teams to deliver actionable insights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Systems & Infrastructure: Develop and maintain ETL pipelines, manage integrations between data systems (e.g., CRM, ERP), and ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Data Modeling & Transformation: Design and implement data models, document transformation workflows (e.g., dbt), and establish best practices for data governance.
- Visualization & Reporting: Build dashboards and reports in Tableau, translating data into actionable insights.
- Performance Optimization & Maintenance: Enhance query performance, monitor system efficiency, and implement emerging data technologies.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and enforce robust access controls.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with business teams, train users on analytics tools, and bridge technical and business needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education & Experience: Degree in Data Science (preferred), Computer Science, or related field; 3+ years in analytics engineering or similar roles.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Tableau, and data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow). Knowledge of Python/NodeJS and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and troubleshooting.
- Communication & Organization: Excellent ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- On-site role based in Winnipeg, MB, with occasional travel to Churchill, MB (<5%).
- Work environment includes extended screen time; overtime may be required during peak seasons.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
