The Opportunity:

Join our dynamic accounting team as an Analyst - Accounting, where you will play a vital role in managing the financial health of a diverse portfolio of properties. In this position, you will prepare monthly property accounting and analytical reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions. You'll collaborate closely with Property Managers and other stakeholders, contributing to the overall success of our operations and client satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Property Accounting
  • Prepare monthly accounting for properties, both simple & complex. 
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including charging of rents, posting of journal entries, review of capital and rent schedules. 
  • Review activated lease amendments to ensure accuracy for reporting and tenant ledgers. 
  • Coordinate with Property Manager on any property inquiries, includes review of operation and receivable reports. 
  • Prepare monthly operating cost estimates and assist Property Manager with final year-end operating cost billing packages.
Analytical
  • Prepare monthly analytical reports and explanations, coordinate with property accountants where explanations are required.
  • Prepare quarterly workbooks for MD&A and FS disclosures.
  • Review of monthly property reconciliations prepared by Accountants. 
Your Technical Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent Accounting Diploma, or relevant Real Estate experience preferred. 
  • Three to five years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Previous experience in real estate accounting or proficiency with Yardi is an asset.
  • Full cycle accounting experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed monthly financial reports, operating cost estimates, and analytical reports.
  • Familiarity with quarterly MD&A and financial statement disclosures. 
  • Experience with audit requests and assisting in budget processes.
