Ambassador
Ambassadors are an integral part of our team and help ensure the safety of guest and stations. Ambassadors work closely with guest who are vulnerable individuals in need of support, understanding, and protection. Ambassadors are responsible for the safety of guest at their assigned station during their scheduled shifts. In addition, they are accountable for the station needs (environment of care, compliance, guest service relations).
Employment Expectations:
- Serves and protects Christ-Centered Ministries / PIT STOP practices by adhering to professional standards, policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintains accurate documentation of service objectives, outcomes, and other services following Federal, State, County, and company guidelines.
- Secures all information and maintains company confidence by completing and safeguarding data and keeping information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with public health and legal regulations, and acting as a resource for guest in the community as well as mandated reporter.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a meaningful relationship with each guest in the local neighborhood.
- Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors.
- Sweep or shovel debris from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks.
- Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
- Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies to thoroughly clean restrooms ensuring all contents including toilets, floors, mirrors, partitions, vents, sink areas, and trash receptacles are prepared to provide a safe and comfortable guest experience.
- Provide general inquiries to locations in the nearby communities, such as community clinics, general hospitals, and community social services offices.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or GED is required. Some college studies are preferred.
- At least one year of experience working within a residential station, familiar with mental health and substance abuse issues.
- Knowledgeable, experienced, and committed to housing and homeless issues is essential.
- Knows various Applications and Devices, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, Computers, iPads, mobile devices, etc.
- Can demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
- Must have a valid CA driver's license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
- Knows crisis intervention, Part-R, CPR, and First Aid.
- Guard Card is a plus.
- Available to work weekends.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

- Team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment and operates effectively at all levels.
- Can handle multiple projects simultaneously and cope effectively with ambiguity.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present persuasively.
Physical Requirements:
- There is some walking, bending, and kneeling. Must be able to participate in the moderate lifting of at least 30 lbs. or more (suitcases, packages, etc.).
Workplace Environment:
- There is a risk of exposure to bodily fluids infections, contagious / blood-borne diseases, and chemicals (cleaning agents), and exposure to varying, unpredictable situations (i.e., client behavior).
