Main responsability
Reporting to the Director of Community Relations, the liaison officer will be an integral part of the external affairs group and will support the team in carrying out its tasks and responsibilities. The liaison officer will represent the company within the community and facilitate communications between the company and community representatives. The position is primarily based at the office in Lebel-sur-Quévillon, with a standard 40-hour work week.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Represent Gold Fields in the city of Lebel-sur-Quévillon and the non-Indigenous communities of Jamésie;
- Facilitate communication between Gold Fields and representatives of Lebel-sur-Quévillon, community members, organizations, contractors, and other non-Indigenous stakeholders in Jamésie;
- Provide information to the community about the Windfall project and other regional exploration projects;
- Assist in developing and disseminating community messages;
- Help develop and evolve a community engagement strategy that addresses concerns and maximizes community support for company activities;
- Help Jamésie residents understand various mining and exploration activities and their environmental, economic, and social impacts;
- Coordinate and organize, with the Director of Community Relations, the logistics and content of information sessions and visibility at public events in Jamésie;
- Support the external affairs team in coordinating meetings and visits in Jamésie or on site;
- Accompany visitors during various events and visits;
- Document, monitor, and report to the supervisor all comments, concerns, requests, complaints, and suggestions;
- Assess overall stakeholder satisfaction regarding how comments, concerns, requests, complaints, and suggestions have been handled;
- Maintain a register of local/regional stakeholders and a list of companies and services offered, among others, in Lebel-sur-Quévillon ;
- Support the HR department with certain recruitment files, employee relations, and other HR activities as needed ;
- Always comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules ;
- Perform any other related tasks relevant to the success of the liaison officer position.

- Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure;
- Attention to detail, rigorous and methodical;
- Good organizational skills, autonomy, and high discretion.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in Office suite software (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Very good command of French and English, both spoken and written. Will work with English-speaking colleagues and suppliers;
- Knowledge of the mining sector is an asset.
Required qualifications
- Hold a Professional diploma in secretarial studies, College diploma in administration or social work;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related field;
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
