Fidelity Building Services Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist to join our team.
This is a part-time, remote position averaging 10 hours per week, with occasional travel to our Hunt Valley, MD office as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Review personnel files, investigation reports, and other security-related records.
- Manage and communicate determinations regarding the granting, denial, revocation, suspension, or restriction of security clearances.
- Assist in background checks for applicants requiring security clearances.
- Ensure all security clearances align with national security standards and suitability requirements.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrate excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate, follow, interpret, and explain established processes and CFR regulations & requirements to Team Members.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to work with and support our Team Members.
- Flexibility as the company headcount grows.
- User experience with government security systems associated with industrial security including DISS, NISS, SWFT, e-APP, NBIS
- Ability to understand and implement company security policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in personnel security (PERSEC), security management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in assisting with the implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Strong ability to manage and maintain security personnel files with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Active Secret clearance is preferred, or able to meet eligibility requirements for Secret clearance.
- Base Pay - $40.00 to $50.00 per hour - Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. We offer a compensation package that reflects your skills and experience.
