Bear Creek Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to step into the role of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Unit Manager. This is a key leadership opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative, resident-centered environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact on team performance, compliance, and quality of care.
Position Summary:
The ADON / Unit Manager is responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing nursing team operations and clinical programs in accordance with facility policies, as well as state and federal regulations. Working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), this role helps guide nursing staff and ensures care delivery meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and assist the Director of Nursing with daily clinical oversight

Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a positive and efficient team environment

Monitor and support adherence to all regulatory compliance and facility policies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure person-centered care

Provide education, guidance, and leadership to staff in clinical best practices

Participate in quality assurance initiatives and audits
-
Assist in staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations
-
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during weekends or holidays as needed
Qualifications:

Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Florida

Current CPR certification (must be maintained throughout employment)

Strong leadership and supervisory skills in nursing administration and team development

Thorough understanding of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and reporting regulations

Proficiency in data interpretation, report generation, and interdepartmental coordination

Effective communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal

Ability to lead with integrity, make sound clinical decisions, and promote a culture of excellence

Familiarity with electronic health records and standard office equipment

Must be able to relate positively and professionally with residents, families, and staff

Willingness to attend ongoing education/in-service programs to maintain compliance and develop skillsets

Prior leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment

Working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing homes
