This is a full-time, 1 year contract position.

The Position:

Acting as an ambassador of Havergal College, the Admission Officer will play a key role as part of the Admission team. This role supports families, applicants and students develop a sense of belonging as they navigate the admission and enrolment process. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission, the Admission Officer will support the team’s efforts to expand the funnel of potential students by building relationships in key communities, participating in all aspects of the recruitment and admission processes as well as onboarding new families. The Admission Officer will also work with the Executive Director, Strategic Enrolment Management on key community and parent relations events.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Represent Havergal at in person and online recruitment events.
  • Conduct interviews with candidates applying to the Junior or Middle school.
  • Assist in organizing special events including Coffee and Conversation, Open House, Junior School Assessment days and new parent events.
  • Visit feeder schools, attends school fairs and feeder school recruiting events.
  • Cultivate relationships with feeder schools.
  • Support the social media strategy led by the Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment Management and Executive Director of Marketing & Communications.
  • Co-manage the Parent Ambassador team with the Associate Director of Admission.
  • Assist in the training of Parent Ambassadors, and Grade Six Leadership Tour guides.
  • Provide support for Parent Relation Events such as Celebration Day and Grad Breakfast.
  • Attend evening/weekend functions relating to Admissions.
  • Engage in the cocurricular life of the school through coaching, mentoring or student club support.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Admissions, preferably in an independent school
  • A commitment to customer service and the Havergal values of courage, compassion, inquiry and integrity
  • Strong technical skills and the ability and willingness to learn new systems
  • Excellent interpersonal language skills, both oral and written
  • Flexible team player who is able to understand and manage competing priorities
  • A self-starter who takes initiative, is proactive and wants to contributes to the shared team goals
