Reporting to the Resource Estimation Director, the Geosystems Administrator will manage the global geoscience database. He or she will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of database systems. He or she will work a 5-2 schedule, Monday through Friday, either remotely or at the Company's office, and will occasionally work on site.
Duties and responsibilities
· Manage SQL database systems and ensure their operational availability (security and performance);
· Ensure and control incoming and outgoing data flows from database systems, from both a geological and technical perspective;
· Conceptualize, propose, and develop solutions, programs, and scripts to support or assist in the development projects for both operations and exploration teams;
· Provide technical support (through program and script development, optimization, automation, user support, and training, etc.) for operations and exploration teams;
· Work in accordance with QA/QC standards and geological data integrity;
· Coordinate and manage the flow of samples and analysis results with various laboratories;
· Produce monthly, annual, and technical reports on databases and QA/QC;
· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and accident prevention standards and implement corrective measures;
· Ensure compliance with environmental and other regulations and laws;
· Perform additional tasks relevant to the Geosystems Administrator role that contribute to the success of the project .
Qualifications
· Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in geology, geological engineering, or mining engineering;
· Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of geology and mineral exploration or any other experience deemed relevant;
· Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of geological data management, data science, programming, or any other experience deemed relevant.
Technical skills
· In-depth knowledge of drilling campaigns and drill core description;
· In-depth knowledge of sampling and geochemistry;
· Knowledge of NI 43-101 and QA/QC program best practices;
· Knowledge of SQL programming (T-SQL, P-SQL);
· Knowledge of relational database system architecture (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Azure);
· Programming experience (Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic, etc.);
· General knowledge of computers and software such as SSMS, Access, Excel, etc.;
· Experience with geological data management software (Fusion Datamine, Geotic Log, Gemcom);
· Knowledge of Fusion Datamine software is a major asset;
· Fluency in spoken and written French and English. Will be required to work with English-speaking software and consultants.
