We are looking for a dynamic Activities Director to lead engaging, life-enriching programs for our assisted living residents. In this rewarding role, you’ll work directly with seniors to enhance their quality of life through social, recreational, and wellness-focused activities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with each individual Resident to effectively encourage the continued social and physical well-being for them.
  • Plan, organize, and implement an innovative program of activities to meet the social, intellectual, and education interest of the Residents.
  • Incorporate life enrichment programs to enhance the daily life of the Residents.
  • Facilitate discussions and group events.
  • Responsible for leading all activities and events.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the preparation and execution of events and activities, including the setup and take down for programs, events, parties, and meetings.
  • Provides assistance before, during, and after Resident outings.
  • Communicate daily with Residents and Location management regarding life enrichment programs and events.
  • Create monthly Resident activities calendar, distribute activity calendars, and maintain records of activities, events, and programs.
  • Maintain awareness of items or issues which may negatively impact Resident safety.
  • Ensure adherence to Location policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

Community Volunteers

  • Develop community volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and oversee transportation functions.
  • Assist in supporting volunteers with programs and events, as directed.

Financial

  • Operate life enrichment program within budget.

Professional Development

  • Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications, establishing networks. Maintain necessary education classes to keep Alabama Assisted Living Administrator license current, if applicable.
  • Attends in-service training. 

Physical Work Environment: Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical activity involves sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
