Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and enriching activities for our residents in an Assisted Living and Memory Care home setting.  This position will assist with developing, recruiting, managing, and scheduling community volunteers.  The Activities Coordinator will coordinate the transportation needs of the residents and for engagement activities.  The Activities Coordinator will help aid the Sales & Marketing Director in marketing efforts through tours and all marketing events. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care and creating meaningful experiences for older adults.

Activities Coordinator Profile

·         Plan, organize, and implement a variety of activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents

·         Coordinate group activities, off-site outings, and events within the community

·         Develop and maintain activity calendars and schedules

·         Collaborate with staff to integrate activities into the overall care plan

·         Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure engagement and participation

·         Attends and participates in various departmental and management meetings as required

·         Provide support for residents with dementia through specialized programming

·         Provides written and/or oral reports of the programs and activities as required

·         Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

Education / Training / Experience:

 ·         Experience in a social or recreation program, preferably in an assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or CCRC activities program preferred

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Detailed-oriented

·         Ability to be flexible

·         Knowledge of senior care best practices

·         Understanding of dementia care principles

·         Background in social work or related field is a plus

·         Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office, Publisher, LifeLoop

·         Transportation experience is preferred, but not required
