Activities/Department Assistant- Senior Center Charlton (24 hrs per week) Benefited Position - Mon - Thurs

Our Senior Center is looking for a new member to join their Team! The Town of Charlton is looking for an Activities/Department Assistant for our Senior Center.  Our senior center accomodates seniors from the age of 60 and older who are very active and engaging. Activities include crafts, yoga, line dancing and so much more. The ideal candidate would assist the director in making the Senior Center a fun and welcoming environment for our Seniors. This is a 24 hour per week benefited position from Monday - Thursday. Hours vary depending on needs of department. This position works under the direction of the Council on Aging Director, assisting the Director with administrative duties and activities that are offered to the seniors.

Qualifications:

* Ability to use initiative, tack and Judgement when interacting with the seniors. 

* Must be emphathetic and sensitive to the seniors needs. 

* Must be able to set priorities and work independently as well as part of a team to ensure needs are met for the department and seniors overall. 

* Ability to prepare materials using computer software to create flyers and perform data entry.

* Must be able to operate computers and use office equipment to include, microsoft office products.

* Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. 

* Must be able to help set up and break down items needed for activities offered.
