Brooksville Healthcare is looking for an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant to help plan and lead engaging recreational, social, emotional, and spiritual activities for our residents. If you’re a creative team player with a heart for seniors, we’d love to meet you.

What You'll Do:

As an Activities Assistant, you’ll help bring purpose and joy to our residents by supporting a variety of engaging programs and events. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and Lead Activities: Work with the Activities Director to organize and deliver meaningful daily programs—ranging from arts and crafts, music, games, and fitness sessions to religious services and community outings.
  • Encourage Resident Participation: Motivate and assist residents in joining group activities and events, always keeping their individual interests and abilities in mind.
  • One-on-One Engagement: Provide personalized, in-room visits for residents who are unable to participate in group activities to ensure everyone feels included and connected.
  • Document and Track Engagement: Record attendance, track participation, and document how each resident responds to the activities. Your observations help improve our programs and ensure care plans are up to date.
  • Interview Residents and Families: Assist in gathering resident preferences, hobbies, and pastimes to help personalize the activity program to their needs and interests.
  • Coordinate Logistics: Help set up activity spaces, prepare supplies, assist with transporting residents to and from programs, and coordinate with other departments as needed (e.g., dietary, housekeeping, nursing).
  • Support Special Events: Help organize seasonal celebrations, birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and family council meetings.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Always treat residents with respect and dignity while helping to build a fun, inclusive, and caring atmosphere that promotes well-being.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CNA certification
  • Friendly, creative, and dependable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to support residents with compassion and respect
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed
  • Comfortable with physical tasks (e.g., bending, reaching, light lifting.
