As an Activity Aide, you will be part of a dedicated team making a real difference. Your role goes beyond simply planning activities—you’ll be creating moments of happiness, connection, and fulfillment for those in our care.
What You’ll Do-
Activity Planning: Work closely with the Activities Director and care team to design and deliver a wide variety of activities that support residents’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Activity Facilitation: Lead group sessions such as arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music therapy, reminiscing, and outings—encouraging participation and fun.

Personalized Engagement: Tailor activities to individual resident interests, preferences, and abilities to enhance their quality of life.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of resident participation, progress, and engagement, contributing to care plans as needed.

Supplies Management: Keep activity supplies organized, stocked, and ready to use.

Collaboration: Communicate with residents, families, and team members to share updates, gather feedback, and build meaningful connections.

Safety First: Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe environment, following infection control and facility guidelines.

Emotional Support: Provide companionship, encouragement, and kindness to foster a nurturing atmosphere.

Professional Growth: Stay current on trends and best practices in recreational therapy and gerontology through training and development.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or certification in recreational therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or healthcare setting is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage people of all backgrounds.

Compassion & Empathy: A genuine desire to connect with and support older adults, including those with physical and cognitive challenges.

Creativity & Flexibility: Ability to design engaging activities and adapt to residents’ unique needs.

Organizational Skills: Great at multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively.

Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing, walking, and assisting in activities for extended periods.

Tech Savvy: Basic computer skills for planning, documentation, and communication.
