Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable & Credit Specialist to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing customer accounts, processing payments, reviewing credit applications, and supporting our overall A/R function across multiple companies.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with solid A/R and credit experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to build rapport with both customers and internal teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Make proactive collection calls and send follow-up correspondence to customers with overdue accounts
  • Process and apply incoming payments (cheques, EFTs, credit cards) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and reconcile customer A/R accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed across multiple companies
  • Set up new customer accounts upon completion and approval of credit applications
  • Review credit applications and supporting documents; perform credit checks
  • Recommend credit terms and limits to the VP of Finance for final approval
  • Monitor project and equipment deposit accounts and track progress payment schedules
  • Work closely with sales and operations to support account resolution and risk management
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activity and communications
  • Prepare A/R aging reports and summaries for internal use and management reviews
  • Support month-end close and audits by providing required A/R documentation

What You Offer

  • 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, or Collections
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with professionalism
  • Familiarity with credit checks and credit reporting tools (Equifax, D&B & Sterling)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics (or similar ERP) is a strong asset
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Credit Administration preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary

Range $55,000 - $65,000
