Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the medical billing process and possess excellent analytical and communication skills. This position plays a key role in managing the billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments, resolving claim denials, and maintaining strong relationships with both patients and insurance carriers.

Mon-Thursday: 8:00am- 5pm Fridays: 8:00am-1pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Post and reconcile insurance payments (ERA, credit card, and checks)
- Post patient payments accurately and timely
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve claim denials, rejections, and scrubs
- Prepare and submit payer appeals and corrected claims
- File claims and handle payer recoupments and refund requests
- Prepare and process bank deposits
- Respond to patient and insurance inquiries via phone in a professional manner
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare billing/accounts receivable experience involving patient interaction
- Proficiency in the full medical billing cycle and insurance follow-up processes
- Able to read and interpret insurance carrier EOBs, and take appropriate follow-up action
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with benefit and eligibility issues from various insurance carriers
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HIPAA compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and perform in a fast-paced team environment
- Professional demeanor with both insurance representatives and patients
