Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Wichita Falls, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch; occasional overtime required during month-end, year-end, or audit cycles)

James Lane Air Conditioning & Plumbing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our office team in Wichita Falls. In this vital role, you’ll ensure accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and account reconciliations—all while supporting the Controller in maintaining reliable financial records.

Invoice Review & Processing: Accurately review, code, and enter invoices, ensuring all required approvals are obtained.
Vendor Account Management: Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date vendor records.
Payment Processing: Prioritize and process payments in line with company terms and discount opportunities.
General Ledger Accuracy: Ensure invoices and purchase orders are coded correctly and records are maintained with precision.
Financial Support: Provide documentation to support month-end, year-end, and audit requirements.
Vendor Communication: Respond to inquiries professionally, maintaining positive relationships with vendors.

• Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• Experience: At least 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable. 3+ years of AP experience strongly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with SAWIN or Great Plains a plus.

• Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, general ledger coding, and reconciliations.

• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and professional communication.
