Accounting Technician

Montréal, QC Part-time $25.00-$30.00/hour

Reports to: Finance Director

Hybrid - Montreal, QC

Permanent, Part-Time

Laurus is looking for a skilled Accounting Technician to play a vital role in assisting the finance department with various accounting tasks and financial operations. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintain financial records, and support month-end and year-end financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and contracts, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely and accurate payments.

  • Accounts Receivable: Generate invoices, track customer payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.

  • Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of the sales report and financial statements 

  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documents.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Support the finance team with various ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Experience using Dext and Quickbooks.

  • Familiar with the Google suite environment (asset).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.

  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

  • Bilingual (English/French)
