Job Description

Established local finance company looking for a full-time Accounting Coordinator. Magee Holdings, LLC has been helping people with their financial needs for over 60 years. Successful candidates will need a minimum of 3-5 years of related accounting experience. Knowledgeable with reconciliation and reporting is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to multitask and work at a fast pace as part of a team.  A college degree or equivalent experience is required. A positive attitude, the ability to set and meet goals, and a drive for excellence is a must.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing & Data Entry - record accounts payable transactions in the accounting system, match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, prepare and process check runs, post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Account Reconciliation - reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and petty cash, verify account balances and investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate subsidiary ledgers for AR, AP, and fixed assets.
  • Reporting & Documentation - assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, maintains organized filing systems (digital and/or paper) for accounting records. support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Compliance & Audit Support - ensure transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards, provide documentation for internal and external audits, assist in maintaining tax compliance records.
  • Process Improvement - identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, assist with system upgrades, automation, and software implementations.
  • Completes operational requirements by consolidating daily, monthly and year end reports.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of files, records, and business practices.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis). Ability to process accounts payable/receivable and perform reconciliations. Knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential financial data with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication. Prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
