Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk will play an important role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and company payments. This person will handle vendor and employee inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and manage reimbursements and corporate credit card payments with our advanced software. They will support essential financial tasks such as general ledger reconciliations, annual 1099 reporting and more. Responsibilities
- Prepares all approved invoices for payment; processes all company payments in a timely manner.
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to secure proper payment approvals.
- Prepares accounts payable checks and ACH files.
- Responds to all vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, expenses, and check requests; resolves invoice discrepancies.
- Process employee reimbursements, corporate credit card payments through our accounts payable software.
- Assists with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis.
- Processes annual 1099 reporting.
- Assists with personal property tax reporting for local / state municipalities.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assists with annual internal / external audits.
- Assists with special projects as required.
- Fixed asset accounting.
- Monthly PDPA reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience as an accounts payable clerk or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience in accounts payable software and Jack Henry a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical thinking.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
