Patient Account Administrative Assistant
LA Health Solutions is an integrated medical facility focused on providing the community with multispecialty care with clinics across the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge area. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Patient Account Administrative Assistant to join our accounting team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the business office by handling the closure and audit of patient accounts, providing administrative assistance, and answering incoming calls. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit patient accounts for completeness and accuracy before closure
- Ensure timely and accurate closure of patient accounts
- Assist with billing corrections and account reconciliations as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries appropriately
- Provide administrative support to the billing and office team
- File and organize documentation, both physical and electronic
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times
- Assist with any other clerical tasks or projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous administrative or clerical experience preferred
- Healthcare or medical office experience is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
- Comfortable working with electronic records and office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office-based environment with typical business equipment and tasks
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with multiple priorities
Experience: Two or more years of experience in a clerical position. Must be proficient in Excel.
