Job Title: Accountant III - Lease Project Management
Location: US-TX-Fort Worth
 
Overview:
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under minimal supervision, the Project Accountant III carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization and accounting standards, as well as end-user requirements.  This team member thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.  This team member develops complex reconciliation of accounting transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.  The Project Accountant III also documents and works to resolve testing issues and reports defects and resolution to project management.
 
 
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
Participate and/or conduct meetings with different teams throughout the organization to develop a solid understanding of upcoming and ongoing projects and the associated impact to financial statements.
Review software requirements as well as technical and functional specification documents in order to develop test scripts and assure that new project code works as designed.
Create and execute test scripts and properly document results to communicate any issues found to software developers and business analysts.
Set up complex account reconciliations and also baseline test environments for projects assigned.
Coordinate testing efforts with the Accounting staff.
Understand Clients systems and processes and how the systems interface with the General Ledger.
Comply with company and accounting policies and procedures.
Aid in transitioning project implementation to business users.
Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
 
Knowledge
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Understand software development processes
Understand how to develop and execute a test script and document findings
Working knowledge of account reconciliations
Working knowledge of financial statements
Working knowledge of automated financial systems
Strong background with automated accounting systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of Oracle reporting tools required (i.e. Cognos, SQL)
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to transform business, technical, and functional requirements into test scripts
Experience with financial reporting tools and database query tools
Detailed oriented
Advance knowledge of Excel
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Possess the skills necessary to operate various office equipment
Strong analytical skills
Strong computer skills
Advanced skills in creating ad hoc queries and reporting
 
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Management Information Systems with strong accounting emphasis prefered, or several years of related experience will be considered.
Experience
2-3 years testing experience with Accounting systems preferred.
5-7 years work experience in general Accounting and/or financial analysis required.
