We are rapidly growing and are looking for a motivated Accountant to grow with us. Bloom Health Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health services by a group of competent, independent practitioners. We diagnose and treat children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population.
Overview
The Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and direct report of the Accounting Manager. This position efficiently & effectively manages financial reports, maintains accurate accounting records, mitigates risk by monitoring a comprehensive set of controls on budgets, provides accurate financial reports for the company, and generally adheres with professional accounting principles.
Responsibilities
The Accountant’s primary functions will include but are not limited to:
- Execute, monthly, quarterly and annual close process and timelines, including creating or reviewing reconciliations for accuracy and the preparation and review of various internal and external reports and the stand-alone and consolidated financial statements within required close timeline.
- Conduct account analysis and research to interpret and ensure accuracy and understanding of account activity.
- Prepare various complex reconciliations, schedules and reports. Use accounting knowledge to provide correcting entries for reconciling items and work to minimize such items on a go-forward basis.
- Serve as subject matter expert for ad hoc accounting issues related to accounts payable, distributions, employee expense reimbursements, salaries and benefits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, payroll etc.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to assist the organization’s finance function in keeping pace with fast-growing business.
- Assist with the financial statement audits, including preparing deliverables and serving as a resource for audit questions.
- Research and propose accounting treatment for complex accounting issues.
- Ensure designated internal controls are in place, monitoring effectiveness of controls and recommending and/or implementing changes as required.
- Develop new ways to eliminate manual processes.
- Support Accounting Manager with corporate disclosure, taxation and various special projects.
- Assist with documenting department policies and procedure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience -- some public accounting experience is preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application
- Experience executing the daily/monthly closing procedures, journal entries, reconciliations, and controls
- Experience preparing and analyzing monthly financial reporting packages and financial statements
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and V-lookups
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with presentation skills
- A self-starter with ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required
Other Requirements
- Minimal travel (5%) may be necessary to be present in the different office locations as necessary for employee support. This can include Oklahoma City, and, if needed, rare visits to company locations in the Mid-Atlantic

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
