Job Description
We are looking for a motivated individual with a commitment to excellence and lifelong learning with multidisciplinary accounting skill set to join our team. This is a high visibility role that supports Executive Management and reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will develop an intimate knowledge of the businesses over the next 4 – 6 years and be groomed for Corporate Controller.
Current company operations include on-site services, warehousing, and packaging. Company is well capitalized and evaluating strategic diversification opportunities through acquisition…potentially in real estate development and/or oil and gas production.
The Accountant will be responsible for:
· Daily operational accounting functions, including financial statements
Tasks
· Prepare monthly financial statements
· Recording monthly journal entries
· Accounts Receivable Verify and Record
· Account Payable verify, code, and pay invoices
· Invoicing creation and review
· Review project charges and match expense to income
· Prepare management fees calculations
· Bank reconciliations
· Year-end audit prep
· Knowledge of 1099 forms
· Other reporting requirements as required
· Other accounting projects as required
Qualifications
· Knowledge of cash and accrual accounting
· Advanced Knowledge of QuickBooks Pro Desktop
· Bookkeeping Advanced Knowledge
· Solid MS Excel skills
· Strong computer knowledge working with Microsoft Outlook (email), Word and Power Point
· Experience managing financial statements for multiple companies
· Prioritizing and time management
The ideal candidate will have strong finance,
accounting, and analytical skills. Communication and interpersonal skills are
also highly desired.
Candidate must be an independent worker who can operate in a non-supervisory position while frequently interacting with Managers and Accounting personnel. This is a fast-paced environment that requires high regard to ACCURACY.
The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall always demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Must also demonstrate ability to follow both written and oral directions.
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting is required
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in for-profit accounting
• Minimum of 1+ year of multi-company accounting and intercompany accounts
