Cameo Consulting Group, LLC a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking qualified and available Sterile Processing Technicians to support a prospective Federal client in The Villages Florida (FL) 

SCOPE:

Sterile Processing Technicians personnel shall perform medical supply technician services to work in Decontamination, Sterilization, Examining, Assembling, Packaging, Receiving, Storing and Distributing of Supply Items to Wards, Clinic Units and Operating Room areas throughout the healthcare system.

 TASKS AND DUTIES:

Decontamination:

  • Knowledge, and experience in removing gross contamination.
  • Pre–sterilizing biological contamination before handling.
  • Decontaminate all reusable supplies and equipment.
  • Experience with visually examining items for damage, deterioration, or imperfections such as rust, pitting, and cracks.

Assembles/Package/Wrap/Sterilize Supply Items:

  • Knowledge or experience in packaging individual items or assembling items into sets or trays.
  • Assemble trays or sets according to guides and in a logical manner, permitting effective sterilization.
  • Sterilizes items comparing control tests to determine that correct parameters (e.g. time, temperature, and pressure)
  • Examine items to ensure that gross contamination has been removed.

Distribute Supply Items to Wards, Clinic Units or Operating Rooms:

  • Knowledge of distributing items according to established requirements, special requests or as requisitioned.
  • Perform daily inventories of wards or units supply areas and replenishes to appropriate stock levels.
  • Consult with customers on items in short supply or out of stock.
  • Maintain records on stock levels.

Receive/Store/Control Supply Items Stock:

  • Knowledge of receiving new supplies, checks deliveries for quality, quantity, and price.
  • Assist with inventory system.
  • Assemble and load ward and operating room carts according to schedules and fill special and emergency requests for supplies.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of experience as a medical supply/sterile processing technician.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge in sterilization methods
  • Knowledge of infection prevention concepts
  • Experience examining medical items for damage, deterioration, or imperfections such as rust, pitting, and cracks.
  • Licensure as a Sterile Processing Technician (desired)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist’s (CST) or Sterile Processing Certification (desired)

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds
  • Positive Attitude. Desire to Learn, and professionalism.
