Cameo Consulting Group, LLC, a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking several qualified and available Budget Analysts to support a potential Federal client in Washington, DC. There are multiple full-time, long-term positions that will be available upon contract award.

SENIOR BUDGET ANALYST

Review and analyze budget data, identifying gaps and finding data to answer key questions. Identify trends and opportunities to improve financial status. Develop, validate and communicate financial metrics. Meet with and guide department heads about budget needs and decisions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS/BA preferably with a business or math-related focus, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience. Within the period of relevant experience, the resource

should have a minimum of six years of experience working in financial management consulting/assistance services supporting Chief Financial Officer or senior financial personnel. An MS/MA will substitute for two years of the relevant experience requirement.

DUTIES

  • Within defined objectives and with considerable latitude, performs in a professional position supporting highly complex financial management efforts by performing/leading financial planning, budget formulation, budget execution, budget monitoring, managerial cost accounting, financial analysis, financial management systems, financial risk analysis, other financial reporting, management controls, financial oversight of agency activities, performance measurement, activity-based cost management support, management and internal control reviews.
  • Improving agency financial management processes and systems on a continuous basis.
  • Financial consulting and technical assistance that is deemed to be necessary by the Chief Financial Officer, senior financial managers, or senior program managers.
  • Develops and/or reviews study plans and monitors/reports project status.

BUDGET ANALYST III

Reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for various departments to ensure conformance to budgetary limits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May report to an manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

BUDGET ANALYST II

Reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for various departments to ensure conformance to budgetary limits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires an associate’s degree and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

BUDGET ANALYST I

Reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for various departments to ensure conformance to budgetary limits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma with 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to perform administrative tasks
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative functions
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Shall have experience with computers.
  • Shall have experience and efficiency in word processing and data entry.
  • Shall have experience in gathering data, compiling information and preparing reports.
  • Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with customers.
