The Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 delivers mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, providing evidence-based therapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. The BHP2 typically works under minimal supervision and may supervise entry-level providers or interns.
Key Responsibilities:-
Assessment & Diagnosis

Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and clinical interviews.

Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria.

Administer and interpret standardized screening tools.

Therapy & Counseling
-
Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy using evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, MI, etc.).

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Offer crisis intervention and stabilization as needed.

Case Management
-
Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans.

Coordinate with primary care, psychiatric providers, case managers, and community resources.

Refer clients to external services when appropriate.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant ethical and regulatory standards.

Team Collaboration
-
Participate in case consultations, clinical supervision, and team meetings.

May provide guidance or mentorship to Behavioral Healthcare Provider 1s or interns.

Outreach & Education (optional depending on role)

Participate in community outreach or patient education programs.

Conduct psychoeducational sessions or workshops as needed.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

Licensure: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent independent licensure (or working toward full licensure, depending on employer policy).

Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in behavioral health.
