Physician Duties
• Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment
for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting
utilizing an electronic health record system
• Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing
• Managing medication
• Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
• Making referrals for specialized care or treatment
• Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures,
protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards
• Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer
reviews
• Engaging in collaborative agreements, as needed
• Caseload: Up to 2.5 patients/hour

Searching for a physician who is board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine and who is experienced in primary care to provide on-site services on a part-time basis (24-30 hours/week) to a male incarcerated population. On-call coverage is not required. Schedule is weekdays - no evenings, weekends, or holidays - and is flexible based on needs of facility. Assignment may last at least 6 months if selected physician is a good fit. Both a phone interview and on-site meeting/tour will be required.
The following credentialing documents must be submitted: a comprehensive resume that includes education (with location and year of graduation), training, and complete work history; and Ohio license; healthcare-professional level BLS/CPR certification and board certification. A Drug Enforcement Administration certification should also be submitted, if available, as it will be required for the assignment. If an offer is extended, drug and TB test documents will need to be supplied by vendor for review by hiring manager at least 48 hours prior to start, or the start date may be postponed.
