2nd Shift Packaging Supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Reports to Seasoning Operations Manager

BACK-UP:  Team lead 

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for organizing flow of work within the Bulk Packaging Department, ensuring on time completion of orders, under the direction of the Seasoning Operations Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Specific duties include:

            .  requisitions material required to meet production goals

.  examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications

.  monitors changeovers and cleaning to ensure compliance and efficiency

            .  establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules

            .  recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and

                quality of product

            .  maintains time and production records in payroll system and ERP system

            .  must become familiar and proficient with Redzone

            .  responsible that all quality procedures are followed and checks are completed

            .  suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency

            .  responsible for ensuring production downtime is either minimized or eliminated

            .  performs activities of workers supervised

            .  identifies training needs of those supervised

            .  responsible for shift efficiency

            .  participates and leads plant improvement activities

            .  monitor production output versus standard and provide daily feedback to operators

            .  mentors the team for individual growth

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department, must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment.  High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and have ability to speak effectively to his/her departmental employees. Has working knowledge of basic computer skills.  Ability to drive fork truck with certification. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  Noise level –  mid range., regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  PPE is required to be worn.

 AUTHORITY: Coordinates the activities of staff or a function

 Shift Hours - M-Th 2:30p – 1am with additional time as needed to meet job expectations.
