Job Description:
Go Ride, LLC is seeking reliable, compassionate drivers to join our Non-Emergency Medical Transportation team on a 24-hour on-call basis. As an on-call NEMT driver, you will provide essential transportation services to patients requiring non-emergency medical transportation throughout Louisiana, with approximately 90% of our clients requiring wheelchair assistance. A company vehicle will be provided for your use during on-call periods.
Schedule:
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- Opportunity to work in other divisions during your 7 off days (optional)
- Flexible scheduling options available
Compensation:
- $25 per day on-call rate
- $14 per hour while actively transporting patients and returning to base
- Competitive compensation structure that rewards reliability and service excellence
- Additional earning potential by working in other divisions during off days
Service Area:
- Based in New Orleans
- Service area includes all of Louisiana
- Must be willing to travel throughout the state as needed
Responsibilities:
- Transport patients safely to and from medical appointments, treatments, and facilities throughout Louisiana
- Assist wheelchair-bound patients (90% of clientele) with safe loading, securing, and unloading
- Operate wheelchair lifts and properly secure wheelchairs in the vehicle
- Remain on-call for 24-hour shifts with prompt response when called
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety standards
- Complete required documentation for each transport
- Provide professional, compassionate service to patients
- Maintain communication with dispatch
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Valid Class D Chauffeur's license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Background check required
- Pre-employment drug screening required
- Physical ability to assist wheelchair patients
- Professional, caring demeanor
- Ability to remain available for 24-hour on-call periods
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel throughout Louisiana
- CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
